Alt codes for accent letters

Hold the Alt key, type the number on the number pad, then let go of Alt. The letter appears. Search the table or click a letter to copy it.

How to use Alt codes

  1. Turn on Num Lock.
  2. Hold down the left Alt key.
  3. Type the code on the number pad, not the number row above the letters. Include the leading 0 where shown.
  4. Release Alt.

Codes that start with 0 (Alt + 0233) use the Windows character set and work the same in almost every program. Codes without the 0 (Alt + 130) come from the old DOS character set. Both give the same letter where both are listed. Letters not in this table have no Alt code: copy them from the accent letters tool or use one of the methods in typing accents on Windows.
